Utility Reinstatement Road Markings | FIXA
FIXA SOLUTIONS GUIDE
Utility reinstatement road markings
Utility and highway reinstatement work often finishes with more than the asphalt repair itself. Existing lines, symbols or other surface markings may need reinstating after the surfacing work is complete, and any repair joint or edge treatment must be considered separately against the project requirements.

What to record before reinstating the marking
- Original line colour, width and position
- Total reinstatement length
- Any symbols, characters or layout dimensions
- Surface type and condition after the repair
- Project drawing or specification
- Any required preparation or primer from the current product guidance
Repair edges and overbanding
If the reinstatement also requires treatment of a suitable asphalt joint or repair edge, that is a separate specification decision. See the FIXA overbanding and asphalt joint guide and the live Proband 60 overbanding product where relevant.
