FIXA is building a network of independent specialist contractors so customers who need installation, not just material supply, can be introduced to businesses with relevant capability and geographic coverage.
Independent contractors
Contractors in the network are independent businesses. They are not FIXA employees, agents or subcontractors unless a separate project contract expressly says otherwise. Any referral is an introduction; the customer and contractor agree their own scope, price, programme and contractual terms.
What FIXA intends to check
- Relevant insurance
- Competence, training and accreditations appropriate to the work type
- Evidence of completed work and suitable references
- Health and safety information
- Geographic coverage and operational capability
- Periodic review of the information held
FIXA Approved Contractor
The term FIXA Approved Contractor will only be used where the defined checks for that contractor and work type have been completed. It is a FIXA network status, not a regulatory certification or guarantee of a specific job outcome.
